TC'S
Terms & Conditions

At Croydon Computer Medic I consistently aim to give you good advice, and great customer service, I aim to assist you where I can with no complicated jargon or sales talk along the way. I also aim to give you a bespoke personal service and hope that as a client you are happy with the service(s) I provide.

My T&C’s as set out here mention some important things you should be aware of when you decide to use my business and of any content, data, software, and hardware that I have access to on a daily basis through Croydon Computer Medic.

These T&C’s as set out here will apply where you have either purchased or used my hardware, software and repair services from Croydon Computer Medic.

The term ‘Croydon Computer Medic’ or ‘I’ or ‘we’ refers to that of Croydon Computer Medic, whose office is at 307B London Road, Broadgreen, West Croydon, Surrey, CR0 3PA (England and Wales). The term ‘you’, ‘your’ ‘client’ and ‘customer‘ refers to the user or purchaser of goods or services, of Croydon Computer Medic and the use of my website and business.

These conditions, together with any quotes, estimates or any other prices given shall form the agreement between Croydon Computer Medic and you for provisions of the applicable services, software or hardware stated in the quote for repair.

These conditions shall prevail unless stated specifically otherwise, over any inconsistent terms or conditions contained in your purchase order, quotation, confirmation of the order, specification, invoice, or implied by law, trade custom, or practice.

Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed by either party in the applicable quote, payment shall be made in full in advance for all parts required, engineer costs, and any hardware, software, and services.

Until payment has been received in full, no work will be undertaken till such time that the fees have been paid.

Payment must be made in full within the time frame specified by the engineer at the time of conversation, or upon a quotation being produced should be made within 7 days from the date of the quote being given.

Quotations

Quotations are valid for 7 days from the time of issue, unless agreed to by us by either text, calling, or emailing. Please check your quotation for the exact period of validity.

Any change to the scope of the work, including a change to any stated assumptions or the customer, changes their mind and wishes for something else to be done, may result in the quotation being made invalid or amended to add the service or parts required and will increase the bill further. Should this occur an updated quotation will be issued to replace the previous version from Croydon Computer Medic.

Quotations are also subject to product availability at the time of issue. Cost and timescales may be affected by stock levels held by relevant third party suppliers and contacts and delays may be inevitable and out of my hands.

Equipment left onsite

Any works carried out by Croydon Computer Medic – and or works done of any kind and or have not been collected from us within 3-months from the date of completion of said works, even if paid for or not in advance will forfeit the return of such devices, whether its a Laptop, PC, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, or iMac, or any other device new or old.

No claim after this will be accepted and this is final as per my business policy.

Due to the nature of the work undertaken by Croydon Computer Medic, there is always some risk when working on upgrading/repairing PC hardware, (testing and upgrading can stress components that would otherwise not have been tested as would have been working previously). I work following the best practices to avoid placing any unnecessary risk on your hardware. In some cases replacing a component on a laptop whereby it has been Liquid Damaged for example can cause problems down the line with other components, incurring other charges possibly, but I do test everything as for this not to happen. By leaving the hardware with me you are confirming that you are happy to accept this liability.

Once work is completed we request that you arrange collection at the earliest possible time. Failure to collect your hardware or to respond to communications may result in your hardware becoming forfeited and being disposed of as we see fit. We will always wait at least 3 months before taking this course of action.

Cancellation of Scheduled Work

If you need to cancel an appointment, Croydon Computer Medic requests that at least 24 hours’ notice be given. Cancellation at short notice may incur an administration charge where available, based on our prevailing hourly rates for the time incurred.

Croydon Computer Medic accepts no liability in respect of any problem(s) we are unable to remedy due to any factors beyond our control. These include (but are not limited to) the specification, age, or condition of your hardware or software, failure to provide appropriate software licenses, discs, drivers, and lack of vendor support (for example where you have not kept up the relevant support subscriptions), lack of access to third-party services, or any issues with your telecommunications and internet connection, or failure to comply with any Croydon Computer Medic minimum requirements notified to you from time to time.

For issues unrelated to our work completed, or outside the scope of my agreed work, Croydon Computer Medic – are not responsible. And in any very rare case, it does happen that after leaving me, you take your device to Apple support later and they repair the fault(s) then you must include an original engineers report of works done. This is to avoid fraud and in some cases refunds on the work I have done. As in some cases although rare indeed, a 50% refund can be made if I am found to have caused further damage, if you obtain a engineers report from Apple for example and give it to me, I may be able to offer a refund up to 50% again this is very rare in 15+ years this has almost happened in my business so this clause covers this.
